WebJan 13, 2014 · Auto detecting a hdmi input doesnt require CEC i believe. Some tv's would just detect video being inputed and swicth to it, i believ it was possible even with RCA type conncetions. It just depend on if the tv manufators put the feature in. I know Westinghouse put them in alot of tv's. My older tv would swap between ps3 and xbox 360 just fine.
